Wastewater pit

The waste-water pit was a circular tank well-built of dried and red bricks. The channels that lead to it end in openings in the stone pavement in the frigidarium and tepidarium rooms. Water from the bathing tanks did not drain directly to these channels, but apparently was first used for sweeping clean the floors before disposal.
